    THE EFFECT OF OREGAMI AETHEROOLEUM AND EXTRACTS OF BEE PRODUCTS ON THE YOLK QUALITY OF TABLE EGGS

    The aim of the experiment was to analyze the effect of certain feed additives on the egg yolk quality characteristics of laying hens hybrid Hy-Line Brown under controlled conditions. Laying hens (n=40) were randomly divided into four groups with the same number of hens per group (n=10). In the first group there were hens fed with complete feed mixtures without any additives. The second group was fed with complete compound feed enriched with Oregami aetherooleum. In third group there was propolis extract added and  in the fourth group there was a supplement of pollen extract. All groups of hens were fed ad libitum. The average value of the yolk weight was found significantly (P<0.05) higher in the fourth group than in the second one, the yolk index value was significantly higher in the third group compared to the second one. There was significantly (P<0.05) higher average value of the yolk colour in the second group compared with the fourth one. In all experimental groups and characteristics there was statistically significant (P<0.05) dependance on the actual part of the laying period

    The experiment was designed to investigate the effects of feed supplementation with selenite or selenized yeast on eggs quality of laying hens. Hens were fed from 1st day by standard feed mixture. Control group get only native dose of selenium (0.1 mg/kg) naturally presented in feed mixtures. First experimental group get selenium addition 0.4 mg/kg in a form of sodium selenite, second one the same dose of 0.4 mg/kg but in organic form of Se-yeast. The diet for the fourth group was supplemented with Se-yeast at Se dose 0.9 mg/kg DM. The both doses of organic selenium had significantly (P&lt;0.05) beneficial influence on the egg weight (g±SD) (60.45±3.87a; 60.81±5.63a; 62.41±3.72b; 62.15±3.16b). Significantly lower values of egg shell weight and egg shell ratio were found out in experimental group with sodium selenite only. The significantly lower egg shell strength (N/cm2) was in the experimental groups with supplementation of Se in both forms. Average egg shell thickness (μm) were not significantly affected (P&gt;0.05) by the supplementation of Se into the feed mixture for laying hens

    Effect of selected feed additives on internal quality parameters of table eggs

    The aim of our experiment was to evaluate under experimental conditions the influence of probiotic preparation based on lactobacillus, oregano essential oil, sumac (Rhus coriaria), propolis and pollen on egg quality parameters of laying hens hybrid Lohman Brown. For housing hens (n ​​= 60) three storey enriched battery cage was used in which hens were divided in groups (n = 10). Total floor space given to one animal was 943.2 cm2. In the control group of hens complete feed mixtures without any additions were fed. In the first experimental group complete feed mixture was enriched with probiotic lactobacilli based preparation in a dose of 0.5 g.kg-1. In the second experimental group oregano essential oil was added to the feed mixture at a dose of 0.5 ml.kg-1. The third experimental group was enriched with 1 % concentration of sumac (Rhus coriaria). The fourth experimental group was enriched with 0.2 g of propolis extract per 1 kg of feed mixture and the fifth experimental group was supplemented by pollen extract of the same dose. All groups were fed ad libitum. Eggs quality indicators observed were egg weight (g), yolk percentage (%), yolk index, white percentage (%), whites index and Haugh units of whites (HJ). The results show that addition of probiotics positively, although not significantly, influenced the average egg weight. The addition of oregano oil and sumac insignificantly decreased egg weight (P&gt;0.05), the values ​​of the other eggs quality indicators were comparable with the control group. Supplementation of feed mixture with propolis as well as phytobiotics insignificantly decreased egg weight, but its addition improved the internal quality parameters as the yolks and whites index, whose average values ​​were in this group, although not statistically significantly higher (P&gt;0.05).

    Comparison of the Emanox and Sulfacox coccidiostats in broiler rabbit farming

March 2015The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of two different preparations against rabbit’s coccidiosis - naturally based preparation Emanox and conventional preparation Sulfacox - on selected production indicators. Preparations against coccidiosis were administered in the form of a beverage from weaning (42 days old) until the 60 days old. In the period of 84 days of rabbit’s age average body weight in the Emanox group reached 2673.40 g, while in the Sulfacox group live weight was 2704.73 g. In the Emanox group 4 cases of death was recorded during the fattening, which has occurred within 51 to 66 days of age. In the Sulfacox group only two cases of death were registered at age 53 and 57 days, both caused by rabbit’s constipation. Total feed consumption over the fattening period in the Emanox group was 121.99 kg and the average consumption of the complete feed mixture per 1 kg of body weight gain was 3.52 kg. In the Sulfacox group the total consumption of 122.56 kg of feed during fattening period was recorded and average consumption of complete feed mixture per 1 kg of body weight gain was 3.21 kg. Kurčatá znáškového hybrida Isabrown boli náhodne rozdelené do 4 skupín (n = 12) a od 1.dňa života kŕmené po dobu 9 mesiacov kŕmnou zmesou s prídavkami rozdielnych množstiev alebo foriem Se. Sliepky boli kŕmené štandardnými kompletnými kŕmnymi zmesami pre odchov a neskôr v chove zmesou pre vajcia produkujúce nosnice ad libitum. Sliepky v kontrolnej skupine prijímali kompletnú kŕmnu zmes s natívnou dávkou Se, v prvej experimentálnej skupine bol prídavok Se vo forme seleničitanu sodného v množstve 0,4 mg/kg sušiny, v druhej experimentálnej skupine bola zmes obohatená o Se v dávke 0,4 mg/kg sušiny, ale vo forme organickým Se obohateného kvasničného extraktu, v tretej experimentálnej skupine dostávali sliepky zmes obohatenú o selenizované kvasnice v dávke 0,9 mg/kg sušiny, teda nad limit povolený EÚ. V pokuse boli sledované ukazovatele: hmotnosť vajec (g), merná hmotnosť vajec (g/cm3), hmotnosť škrupiny (g), merná hmotnosť škrupiny (g/cm3), percentuálny podiel škrupiny (%), pevnosť škrupiny (N/cm2) a priemerná hrúbka škrupiny (μm). Pri hmotnosti vajca sa štatisticky významne (p<0,05) prejavil priaznivý vplyv oboch dávok organickej formy Se. Štatisticky nižšia pevnosť škrupiny bola v experimentálnych skupinách s prídavkom Se v oboch formách, pri priemernej hrúbke škrupiny boli rozdiely medzi jednotlivými skupinami štatisticky nevýznamné (p>0,05)

    The effect of dietary Rhus coriaria L. supplementation on fatty acids composition in table eggs

    The aim of the study was to analyse the effect of Rhus coriaria L. on fatty acids composition in table eggs. In the experiment, there were used laying hens Hy-Line Brown at the age 20 weeks, experiment lasted 21 weeks. Two diets for two hen´s groups (control: C and experimental: E) were used in trial. In control group, hens were fed by commercial total feed mixture, in experimental group the feed mixture was supplemented by Rhus coriaria L. seeds (1 % in feed mixture). During the last week of experiment, eggs of group were collected and after adjustment were analysed for fatty acids. In experimental group of hens was found in egg´s yolk significantly (P0.05) of a higher linoleic acid percentage. The same tendency (P>0.05) was found in γ-linoleic acid. In egg´s yolk from control group of hens were found higher percentage of α-linoleic acid (P<0.05).  In arachidic and arachidonic acid, there were didn´t found a effect of Rhus coriaria L. seed supplementation in total feed mixture hen´s diet

    The impact of the humic acid and phytobiotics on performance and carcass parameters of broiler chickens

In experiment from total 200 one-day-old ROSS 308 chickens were randomized into four groups (n = 50). The control group was fed with basal diet (BD) without any additives. Group of chickens marked as treatment 1 (T1) was fed a BD containing 2% of humic acid, the group marked as treatment 2 (T2) was fed a BD containing 78% of humic acids, 18% of garlic powder (Allium sativum L.), 1% of milled dried leaves of wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), 1% of milled dried leaves of thyme (Thymus vulgaris), 1% of milled dried leaves of oregano (Origanum vulgare) and 1% of milled dried leaves of bogbean (Menyanthes trifoliata), together 2 kg /100kg complete feed mixture (BD). In the group marked as treatment T3 were chicken fed with BD containing industrially produced coccidiostats. Experiment lasted 42 days.     Chemical composition of chicken meat after application of humic acid and probiotic Lactobacillus fermentum

    The aim of the present study was analysed and evaluated chemical parameters of chicken breast and thigh muscles after addition of humic acids and probiotic into diet for broiler chicken. A total of 200 pcs Ross 308 broiler chickens were divided into 4 groups (n=50). The control group of chickens was fed with complete feed mixtures without any additives. Chickens in experiment groups were fed a diet containing: P1 (1% of humic acid), P2 (1% of humic acid and probiotic supplement Lactobacillus fermentum) and P3 were fed with complete feed mixture containing combination of starter feed mixture (1. - 21. day) with coccidiostaticum Diclazuril and growth feed mixture (21. - 35. day) containing Salinomycinum sodium. Besides, the groups were kept under the same conditions. Fattening period lasted for 42 days. Chicken meat was analyzed for content of water, crude protein, fat and cholesterol. Based on the results, we can state that the application of humic acids or the combination of Humac Natur with probiotic did not affect the chemical composition of the breast muscle. In the breast muscle, the protein content in the experimental group P3 with the coccidiostat (22.98 g.100 g-1) was reduced (p &le;0.05) compared to control group (23.42 g.100 g-1). In the case of thigh muscle was significantly higher content of fat and cholesterol (p &le;0.05) in chickens feeding with addition of Humac Natur (fat - 9.08 g.100g-1; cholesterol - 0.86 mg.100g-1) and similar results were recorded in experimental group with combination of Humac Natur and probiotic (fat - 9.15 g.100g-1; cholesterol - 0.86 mg.100g-1) compared to control group (fat - 7.15 g.100g-1; cholesterol - 0.70 mg.100g-1).     Comparative study of productive performance and carcass parameters of Oravka, Amrock and their reciprocal crossbred chickens

    Received: 2018-06-06 | Accepted: 2018-06-08 | Available online: 2018-11-26https://doi.org/10.15414/afz.2018.21.04.183-185The objective of this study was to compare the pure chicken breeds Oravka (OR; n = 50), Amrock (AM; n = 50) and their cross Oravka×Amrock (ORAM; n = 50) and Amrock×Oravka (AMOR; n = 50) for productive and carcass parameters. The birds were maintained on a deep litter system for a period of 20 weeks. We recorded that crossbred ORAM and AMOR chickens performed better than the average of parental genotypes for body weight and body weight gain in brooding and growing period. The poor (P0.05) difference among pure and crossbred chickens.     Vplyv fytogénného aditíva na nutričné zloženie mäsa moriek

    The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of a blend of phytogenic additive on nutritional and mineral composition of breast, thigh muscles and liver in fattening turkeys. A total 300 female turkeys were monitored in the trial. 1-day old broad-breasted white turkeys hybrid XL were randomly divided into two groups (150 pcs per each). Turkeys in control group were fed by standard diet for fattening and in experimental group from the 1st to the 12th week by complete feed mixture with supplementation of a blend of essential oils from origanum, anise and citrus fruits as well as a prebiotic rich fructooligosaccharides in dosage 1 kg per 1000 kg of feed mixture. Turkeys were housed in group on deep litter. Experiment lasted 18 weeks. Samples of breast and thigh muscles, and liver for nutritional analysis were collected during turkey’s dissection (10 samples per each group). After the determination of nutrients, there were found significant (P 0.05) content of DM and fat was recorded in liver. After analysis the macro and microelements, significant (P 0.05) concentrate only in content of manganese in experimental group. Occurrence of manganese was not observed in both muscles.Cieľom štúdie bolo analyzovanie vplyvu zmesi fytogenného aditíva na živinové a minerálne zloženie v prsnom svale, stehennom svale a pečeni výkrmových moriek. V pokuse bolo monitorovaných celkovo 300 jedincov samíc moriek. Morky plemena mäsový medzilíniový úžitkový kríženec morka širokoprsá biela, hybrid XL, vo veku 1 deň boli rozdelené do dvoch skupín (150 kusov v každej skupine). Morkám v kontrolnej skupine bola skrmovaná štandardná kompletná kŕmna zmes pre výkrm a v experimentálnej skupine od 1. do 12. týždňa bola skrmovaná kompletná krmná zmes s prídavkom zmesi esenciálnych olejov z oregana, anízu, citrusových plodov a prebioticky obohatená o fruktooligosacharidy v dávke 1 kg na 1000 kg kŕmnej zmesi. Morky boli ustajnené skupinovo na hlbokej podstielke. Pokus trval 18 týždňov. Vzorky prsného svalu, stehenného svalu a pečene, určené na analýzu živín, boli odobrané počas jatočnej rozrábky (10 vzoriek z každej skupiny). Po stanovení obsahu živín boli zistené signifikantné (P ˂ 0.05) rozdiely medzi kontrolnými a experimentalnými vzorkami prsných svalov a to v obsahu dusikatých látok a tuku. Štatisticky významné (P ˂ 0.05) rozdiely sme spozorovali vo všetkých analyzovaných vzorkách stehenného svalu. Fytoaditívny prídavok výrazne (P ˂ 0.05) zvýšil obsah dusikatých látok v prsnom (z 91.13 na 93.7%) a stehennom svale (z 79.78 na 85.73%) a popolovín v stehennom svale (z 4.25 na 4.61%). Tendencia vyššieho (P ˃ 0.05) obsahu sušiny a tuku bola zaznamenaná v pečeni. Po analýze makro a mikroprvkov sme zistili významné (P ˂ 0.05) rozdiely v obsahu všetkých minerálnych látok okrem draslíka a mangánu. V porovnaní s kontrolnou skupinou, v pokusnej skupine boli zistené významne (P ˂ 0.05) vyššie množstvá zinku vo vzorkách prsných svalov, horčíku a medi vo vzorkách stehenných svalov. V experimentálnej skupine vo vzorkách z pečene bola zistená vyššia (P ˃ 0.05) koncentrácia iba v obsahu mangánu. Výskyt mangánu nebol spozorovaný ani v jednom zo svalov
